Adhesion
<Change in peel strength by repeated application and detachment to the human skin after washing with water>
The left figure shows the changes in peel strength by repeated application and detachment to the human skin after washing with water.
Restoring of adhesive strength by washing with water can be confirmed. Generally we feel pain when peeling at more than 300g/2.5cm of peel strength and an adhesive pad will drop off from the skin at less than 100g/2.5cm by motions of the skin due to low adhesive strength.
GELRODE can be designed to have appropriate adhesive strength to human skin.
Ionic conductivity
Measuring temperature Ionic conductivity  σ (S/cm)
100°C 10-3 to 10-4
Room temperature 10-4 to 10-5
0°C 10-6
Impedance of GELRODE (35mm×35mm×2mm) is 60Ω and specific resistance is 3kΩcm. GELRODE demonstrates good ionic conductivity enough to use as bioelectrode such as electrode of electrocardiograph and stimulating electrode of low frequency therapeutic device.
Stability
<Test condition>
Under room temperature and humidity (23°C, 65%RH) for two years in plastic film package.
Storage in opened package with separator
40°C 75 to 80% 48hours
40°C 30 to 35% 48hours
-10°C
48hours
Storage in closed package
60°C
48hours
-25°C
48hours
40°C 90 to 95% 48hours
40°C 30 to 35% 48hours
GELRODE shows excellent stability in adhesive strength, electroconductivity and appearance under these conditions.
Comparative Model of Gels
GELRODE is one-component gel, which consists of liquid segments without containing dispersion medium. Hydrogels (organogel) are categorized in the two-component gel, which consist of polymers and water (organic solvent). Media can't be avoided releasing from those gels.

Adhesive Strength
Method: 25mm ø of samples are adhered to stainless plate, then 500g of weight applies to them for 30 sec. Adhesive Strength is maximum value in detaching from plate at the rate of 150mm/min.
