| SONAGEL is an acoustic
coupling polymer gel that was developed to create precise ultrasonographic
image of the superficial region of irregular body surfaces such
as thyroid gland, breast or testicle. SONAGEL is a homogeneous
and transparent material as shown in the picture below and has
good shape compatibility to living body as well as effective adhesion
to skin since it is an extremely soft viscoelastic material. It
is also designed to have almost equal ultrasound velocity and acoustic
impedance to those of living tissues. Further it can be used many
times because of superior recoverability and receptivity of the
shape. |
- Transparent and visible during scanning. Palpation
through the pad is also possible even during scanning.
- The acoustic impedance is nearly equal to human tissues,
preventing multiple-reflection artifacts.
- Ultrasonic attenuation is very low, minimizing noise
and artifacts.
- Flexible and easy to apply to the patient. It is
designed for easy handling.
- Non-toxic and non-irritating.
- Resistant to soiling and can be washed with water.
It can be used repeatedly and is therefore economical.

- Wash off all jelly with water, dry thoroughly, and
then place the "SONAGEL" pad in the storage
case.
- The "SONAGEL" pad should be stored flat
in a cool place. It should not be exposed to direct
sunlight.
- The "SONAGEL" pad will absorb alcohol.
However, this does not damage the pad, and it will
return to its original condition after drying.
